Apopka Police Academy 2021

If you want to learn the what’s, why’s and how’s of our wonderful and top-rated Apopka Police Department, I encourage you to apply to participate in the Apopka Police Academy 2021 class.
The Citizens Police Academy 2021 is a 12-week program designed to acquaint residents with the activities of the Apopka Police Department, foster public education and provide the opportunity to serve at community-related events. Participants learn about criminal investigations, SWAT, K-9 and more, all taught by Apopka Police Department Officers and civilian employees.
As a recent graduate of the Apopka Police Academy 2020 class, it provided me the opportunity to gain a better understanding of the training, tools, qualifications, challenges and opportunities these law enforcement professionals face each day.
Upon successful completion of this 12-week program you will have the opportunity to become a member of the Citizen’s Police Academy Alumni Association (ACPAAA). ACPAAA is a group of individuals dedicated to support the mission of the Apopka Police Department. Volunteers work throughout the year at events hosted by the City of Apopka including parades, Shop With A Cop, other civic events and Citizen’s patrol.
If interested, please submit your application as soon as possible as there are a limited number of spaces available. Applications are available in the front lobby of the Apopka Police Department at 112 E 6th Street, Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.- 5 p.m. There is no cost for this program but there are a number of requirements in order to participate. If you have questions or would like more information, please contact Officer Jason Wiggins at 407-703-1777 or JWiggins@Apopka.net.

Community Golf Course Update - Amphiteatre 1/12/21

Your RSR HOA Board and legal counsel are aware of and preparing action on a number of fronts to protect and advance our Homeowners' interests related to the golf course property and proposed development by Dello Russo/Golf Group.
As indicated previously, we must keep our cards close to our chest at this time.  There are a lot of wheels in motion and we will share what we can at the appropriate time.
Your assistance and participation in the process is crucial. We will advise you when and how you can be most effective to achieve our collective objectives.
The HOA Board and our legal counsel are holding a resident/HOA/attorney meeting at the Amphitheatre Northwest Recreational Complex on January 12, 2021 at 6p.m. with no City and no developer participants and hope you will participate.
Social distancing and facemasks are required.  There is limited seating available under the cover of the Amphitheatre, so please bring your lawn chairs.
Thank you for your patience and understanding.  Rest assured we are doing everything within the law to protect and advance our Homeowners' interests.
